DEKRA is an international service provider, which is committed to safety and quality when it comes to technology, the environment and mobility. Vehicle and road safety are the key themes at DEKRA. This has been increasingly focused on since the foundation of DEKRA accident research in October 1978. DEKRA is sustainably and professionally committed to safety and mobility in Europe with this today. With its two crash test facilities the DEKRA Crash Test Center in Neumünster set another milestone, which further increased motivation and opened up new perspectives.
The constant reduction in the number of deaths and serious injuries in road traffic remains a permanent challenge. Our aim is still "Vision Zero". Further development in the technical safety of vehicles is of crucial importance in the process. The basic principle of passive safety is to provide occupants with sufficient residual space and effective restraint systems in a stable passenger compartment in the event of an accident. At the same time, new active safety systems make it possible to prevent accidents and reduce the consequences of accidents. Active and passive safety work hand in hand and allow for ever safer vehicles. This development is evolutionary and has not come to an end yet. The effectiveness of active safety systems must also be considered in future with appropriate testing methods and is therefore placing new demands on crash test facilities. The DEKRA Crash Test Center has responded to this challenge and expanded its facilities accordingly.
In this process DEKRA is building on constant innovation for the benefit of its customers and partners. The accident research in Stuttgart, the Crash Test Center in Neumünster and the Automobile Test Center in Klettwitz all interface and together form the three pillars of the DEKRA Technology Center. Here expert knowledge geared towards innovation interacts with the possibilities of three highly specialised divisions.
In this way we help to sustainably improve safety, and save lives.
